Photographing Henrietta Barnett School in Central Square London NW11

Henrietta Barnett School is an imposing building in Central Square, Hampstead Garden Suburb. It is situated on the east side of the square, facing south of west. On the day this image was shot the sun set on a bearing of 250 degrees, so it lit up the front of the building approximately 10 minutes before sunset. The viewpoint was on the west side of the square just opposite the school. The image was shot at f/11 using 5-stop (3+2) medium grad filters to darken the sky.

Central Square is in North West London – nearest underground station Golders Green on the Northern Line (19 minutes’ walk – see Google maps for directions).
